N.E.C. Classic Car Show

November 11th to 13th

11/11/2011

After a break of a few years the club was invited to exhibit at the NEC classic car show. For those who went along , not only did the club have an excellent stand – there were also nearby stands from RAOC, Classic Renault Club, Matra, Citroen and Peugeot clubs creating a French corner of the show. A big thanks must go to all those who helped to organise and run the stand but especially to Rob McKee, Chris Rabbets, Andy Sargent and David Holden who supplied their cars for the stand. As you can see we had 3 A110s and an early 1600 A310 on the stand. This complemented nicely the RAOC stand containing more modern examples of Alpine and Renault Sport cars. Over the course of the weekend many people came up to complement us on the cars on the stand and enquire about the cost of obtaining one for themselves. They were often dismayed at the dizzy price levels A110s have now reached. Hopefully this will be the first of a number of regular visits to the NEC by CAR (organisation efforts allowing). Overall the show seems to improve every year in the range of car clubs attending and it is well worth making the effort to go. I have posted some pictures of the stand (and some other cars I liked the look of and had not seen before) in the event picture gallery – please take a look – send me any pictures you took which you would like to see posted – John Sweet – Website Administrator – john.sweet99@gmail.com Coordinator.
