Atwell - Wilson Motor Museum & Castle Combe
October 1st / 2nd
1/10/2011
Following our successful visits to the Brooklands Museum and Mercedes-Benz World, Weybridge during the last 2 years, the Club are now going west this Autumn.
Saturday. 1st October will involve a visit to the Castle Combe Race Circuit in Chippenham, Wiltshire. Viewing is excellent here and this will be the Grand Final Race Day for the Circuits’ championships. It includes Formula Fords, Sports & GT’s plus Saloons and a full support package. Let me know in advance and depending on numbers I will arrange for an area where we can park together as a club.
Sunday 2nd October is marked down for a visit to the Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum near Calne. This attraction is open between 11am and 5pm. and is only 20 or so miles from Castle Combe, just off the A4. The museum houses up to 150 vehicles from the 30’s onwards and as well as the cars there are a few trucks and motorbikes to be seen and admired.
Should we be fortunate enough to have good weather on Sunday then the intention is also to visit the famous Caen Hill flight of locks on the Kennet and Avon canal at Devizes, reputed to be the most impressive on the UK waterways. If you can make either of these days or preferably both please contact Dave Hueston at david_hueston@hotmail.com
